Rebecca is in Canada

This morning, Rebecca took off to Canada with her grand parents. She will be staying at her aunt’s place in Calgary for 1 or 2 weeks and then stay in Montreal for 2 months. Fortunately, she is not too emotionally attached to us, which made this temporary separation much easier for us: she was smiling to us all the way through the airport’s security gate! Hopefully she’ll remain quiet during the flight (I really doubt it though).

Hahaha… Who would have thought that Rebecca would be back to Montreal before me, when I left there 2.5 years ago? Life is certainly full of interesting surprises. ^_^

It’s not that bad after all…

Peipei is having a surgery in the next couple of weeks and we decided to let my parents take Rebecca to Canada for 2 1/2 months. This will allow Pei to recover from the surgery without having to take care of Rebecca for a while.
While I was discussing this decision with my parents, I learned that when I was just 2 months old, my brother and I were sent to a day care for 1 whole month as well! What’s even more interesting is that Yao got sick in the day care and then had to be hospitalized for 3 days! :D Hahaha… I don’t recall hearing this story at all, but now I have one more thing to tease Yao about.

I guess we should really give thanks to God. I know Rebecca is in good hands and things aren’t as bad as I thought afterall.

Clever marketing

Few days ago we received an online coupon from a photo store that gives us a free photo portrait. That’s a $18 dollar value! Since we are also members of this store, we already have another free coupon plus a $10 discount for our next visit. Armed with 2 coupons and the discount, I figured that I’d save 18+18+10 = $46 dollars. As long as I order 3 or fewer pictures, I’d walk out paying close to nothing.

I couldn’t have been more wrong.
It turned out that these stores are betting that the customer WILL order more pictures than they expected, once they walk into their store. I ended up with a $50 bill and six pictures. Maybe next time I should leave my credit card in the car…. :D

I am picture-perfect!

Night waking~

Tonight I was screaming for someone’s company. Suddenly, the door was open. Immediately, I knew who it is, just said “Mom Ma”. I waited quietly to be picked up.

Mommy picked me up and prayed for me “Rebecca, Mommy & Daddy loves you very much and God loves you as well. Don’t be afraid! God will take care of you because you are God’s child. See you in the morning. ” I went back to sleep peacefully. Thank you for the powerful prayer!

Rebecca’s first time~

Yesterday, I learned how to climb the stairs-before I could even walk. Dad didn’t believe it until he saw with his own eyes.

(Next time, I will climb out of my crib and sneak out to the kitchen without getting caught… hehehe… :D )

Snobbish lawyer

This morning, Pei and I had an appointment to see an attorney in order to draft a power of attorney (POA) document. The attorney, after being late for 15 minutes, said that he is too busy and that a POA document is just too small for him to handle. But if this is the case, why did he agree to accept the appointment, even though he knew what we wanted in the first place?

It turns out that a POA document will take him 2 hours to prepare, which in my mind, implied that my wasted 45 minutes is worth much less than his potential 2-hour paid work.
I wonder what I should do about this? Hire another lawyer to sue him? Complain to the group legal plan that enlisted him? Or simply ignore it and get on with life…. ?

Who knows? Perhaps today’s unfair event is also too small for us to even care about? :-)

Rebecca at nine months

computer time~Hey! I just learned how type, and this is my first blog ever~~! Yuppi~~!

I just learned how to clap my hands, do “high five” with Mommy and wave my hands to say “bye bye”.

Lately, my fifth tooth is growing out and it hurts a lot! Maybe that’s why I’m whinning all day long.

My favourite activity so far is to go out with Grand Pa and Grand Ma!!
